Our Story
A HOME FOR JIU-JITSU IN THE SOUTH BAY
MCBJJ – Marcelo Cavalcanti Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy was founded in 2020 to bring world-class instruction to Carson and the surrounding South Bay communities. Our home in Carson is more than a gym — it's a place where families train together, athletes prepare for international competition, and beginners discover the art of jiu-jitsu in a safe, welcoming environment.
Led by 5th degree black belt Professor Marcelo Cavalcanti, the academy carries a direct lineage from Carlson Gracie through Rigan Machado. Every class is rooted in proven technique, real-world self-defense, and the values that make jiu-jitsu life-changing: discipline, respect, and perseverance.
